In one word the answer to the question will be "NO". This is however not the objective of this article. Rather the objective is to lose weight and to have a strategy to lose weight.
Let us first look at a few reasons why you should lose weight. 90 out of 100 people would answer this question saying, "they would like to lose weight because they don't like the way they look". There is a huge problem with this reason. This reason is not good enough a reason to keep you motivated to stick to your weight loss plans. The fact that you are fat does not in any way affect you social life if we can avoid certain situations like an athletic event or, trying to wear a swimming suit. Since pretty much everyone around you is fat, you would perfectly fit into the surroundings and this works in your favor. The bottomline is that if you are serious about losing weight, the focus should be more on staying healthy rather than looking good. If only you knew the ill-effects and danger of being obese, it would scare you enough to take weight loss seriously.
Obesity is a killer is a known fact. Obesity leads to even more serious diseases like heart disease, diabetes and cancer. The obese are more prone to these diseases and are at a risk of an early death. Large and floppy hearts and hypertension which is are caused by obesity is one the primary reasons for heart diseases like Atheroscelrosis. Atheroscelrosis could further lead to major cardiac events which if not corrected and attended to at the right time could even lead to the death of the person.
Similar is the case with diabetes mellitus type II. The root cause of it is the insulin insensitivity which again is the after effect of obesity. Diabetes can further lead to conditions like renal failures, blindness and neuropathies that could result in intolerable pain or, amputations as the worst. Diabetes also contributes majorly to heart diseases.
These are good enough reasons for somebody to stay healthy and staying healthy should be an adequate reason for you to lose weight.
But the question still remains. Will you be able to lose weight without a weight loss plan. No you wouldn't be. In order to achieve something, it is extremely important to have a plan. The plan is something that will guide you through what to do and when to do so that you stay on course to your objectives. It directs you to a disciplined lifestyle.
The decision to lose weight is very easy to make. What is difficult is to stick to the plan and follow it until you have reached you goal. A good weight loss plan helps you do just that.
